"Most iconic match-up in Warhammer Fantasy Battle..." Topic

What 2 armies or factions make the most iconic match-up in Warhammer Fantasy Battle. Iconic not as in "most competitive" to play but fluff wise, which two armies are most representative of what Whfb should be about when they meet.

Empire vs. Chaos?

(I'm assuming WFB, not AoS.)

Orcs/Goblins and Dwarves.

Yes, I should have specified pre-AoS.

Pretty much anyone versus Orcs but while I am torn about Dwarfs or Empire I would vote for Empire vs Orcs

Just had an Oldhammer Orcs v Dwarf game with No 2 son and his buddies – great game, good times (plus the Dwarfs won)

Empire versus greenskins seems to have been nominated a few times already, and it is certainly a classic match-up. It pits against each other two stylistically rather different armies.

On the Empire side there are ranks and ranks of disciplined humans in their fancy uniforms, relying not only in their faith in Sigmar but also on some of the finest technology to be found in the Old World (at least outside Dwarven realms).

Greenskin side on the other hand puts forward a horde of various brutal, savage and unruly troop types, relying largely on aggression and loudly yelling WAAARGH, with a touch of simple technology and some dark humour (especially when goblins are involved) thrown in.
