I'm looking for some recommendations for what to use for First Indochina War figures. I know in 15mm Eureka makes Vietminh and Foreign Legion which can cover the infantry and probably the FFL parachute units but not sure what to use for BPC parachutists, Algerian, Moroccan, Thai and the Vietnam parachute units. I think the BPVN basically wore WW2 US army uniforms but not 100% sure. As for 6mm or other 15mm vendors I haven't found a great source yet for anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

The BPVN wore a combination of US steel pots and boonie caps. They all didn't wear US uniforms but, in this scale, it is the steel pot that will make them stand out. Again, probably not an issue in 15mm, but a lot of them carried French weapons like the MAS 36, MAT 49 and FM 24/29. I've seen photos of Algerians and they looked very much like WWII Australians with shorts, puttees and the soft cap with the sides flipped up. Again, a lot of French small arms. |

As you said 15mm or smaller… Check out Pemndraken's Indo-China range in 10mm: link |

I would recommend the Pendraken range as well. I was very tempted by the Eureka range but I like 10mm in general and especially for a conflict that will require some scenery and space. Pendraken's range is pretty expansive and you can pinch figures from the WW2 and Vietnam ranges to supplement poses and gear. The other good factor is that things like webbing and small gear won't be as noticeable if it's not precisely accurate. I ordered a bunch and really like them though I haven't started painting them up yet. There are some nice pictures of the range if you do a quick image search online. |

Try Peter pig. They have a Vietnam range and a modern African range that should cover much of what you want. For ARVN bazooka teams I used wwii us paratroopers. Cheers Joe |
