I decided that building models one at a time was unproductive so I started my own production line. link

The Revell kit is a breeze, the much newer one from IMC was a bit of a nightmare

The I16 is just so cute in a Rocketeer kind of way. I've got a couple in 1/100th.

The classic question of "how small of an airplane can we attach to this giant engine?" I am tracking down models of the experimental versions the I-17, I-180 and I-185

Rata is a [protected native] tree; otherwise I have no idea what the 'subject' is supposed to convey…

Back in the 50's "The Rat Pack" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rat_Pack was a group of "cool" musicians and entertainers that would hang out at Humphrey Bogart's house. Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and Joey Bishop; They defined cool before it became a "thing" to be copied.

The Polikarpov I-16 was nicknamed the "Rata" during the Spanish Civil War.

I think that the I-16 is a particularly cool airplane and looking at the four of them together a thought crossed my ancient mind "What a pack of Ratas". For somebody in their seventh decade the connection made sense; sorry if I caused any confusion.

I got them all finished, now I have to work my way backward through the "I" series of fighters. I have an I-153, I-152, I-3 and I'm looking for an I-5
