I've gotten two text messages from Lori and Christy Brom [of Sergeants 3 – TSATF] in New Orleans since Hurricane Ida devastated the area.
We're OK. No power, limited cell, lost awnings [on their apartment windows], hot but safe. More when we are able. [Tuesday, Aug 31] Still hot. Get ice sometimes but have water. Repairs being made. VA up and a few places uptown but work is round the clock. Cell battery low. I check messages 3 times a day. Did we say it was hot? [Friday, Sep 3] I've responded to both messages and we all continue to keep them and all our Louisiana wargamers (New Orleans, North Shore, and Baton Rouge area) in our prayers. Needless to say that they will not be fulfilling any order for Sergeants3 products for the foreseeable future. As soon as they are able to fill orders, I'm sure Lori will let us know. Jim |

Thanks Jim, I had heard from the girls before Ida and knew they were sheltering in place. Gotta be tough with heat index in the triple digits. Worry more about how they are doing rather than commerce. thanks again Jim, Sam Lemonds |

A timely reminder that when 'Da Nuezz' stops showing a disaster people are still struggling to cope and performing heroic deeds! |

Herkybird, Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana on the same day in 2005 (August 29). In the week between Christmas and New Year's, one of the members of a Yahoo group I subscribed to posted to say that he lived in the next town (or maybe parish) up the river from New Orleans and he was finally moving back into his home. He was the first one back in his neighborhood. The Walgreen's Drugs a couple blocks away had also just come back, and was the only nearby store. So, yeah, things drop out of the news and we forget them, but it takes a long time to recover. The only good thing I can think to say about Katrina is that refugees from the hurricane started at least two Cajun restaurants here in Colorado. Grelber |

For those that follow such things, Brass1 has survived the hurricane. I hope he survives the current lack of potable coffee in the Crescent City. |

John the Greater---is Brass 1 your brother? Maybe he can find Gustov? Your Battle of Tuyutí at Historicon is still one of my favorites! John |
