Here are a couple of in progress pictures that I took of the SM-79 that I painted for GHQ a few years ago.

You don't like the 'spinning props' acrylic look? Or the motionless prop look? (Ah, but I see the props in the background!)

Hi Bill! This picture was taken before the model was totally completed, the props have not been attached.

Here is the completed model as it appears in the GHQ catalog.

Those are really nicely done! How did you apply the mttled paint? Was it airbrushed with a mask or did you sue a sponge? Expertly painted!

that is a lovely bit of work there

Thanks very much, pmwalt and Anton! I appreciate it.

I did the mottled paint by applying very thinned out coats of Humbrol enamels over the base color. In this case, as I recall, I used Humbrol #94 Brown Yellow for the base sand color, Humbrol #102 Army Green for the green, and #186 Brown for the brown color. The front of the aircraft and leading edges is Humbrol #64 Light Gray. The sand and light gray were sprayed on.

The camouflage colors were built up over 3 or 4 thinned layers to get them to the finished state.
