We sent in the Schlock Troopers once again last weekend to give game designer John Sears a chance to test out some new Star Schlock character profiles that he wants to include in an upcoming secret project as well as test a new approach to asymmetrical and dynamic missions for each team.

Conceptually the approach to the mission cards is novel and allows players to revise their goals in response to developments in the game. Each team chooses three mission cards that lay out the way to score victory points at the end of each round, and then activates or discards them in different ways as the game proceeds. The idea is quite promising, and it's a mechanism unlike any I've encountered.

Great game looks like a lot of fun.

I believe the board game Ticket to Ride also uses the victory mechanism of 3 mission cards which can be traded in for others as the game advances.
