Hi all, I'm building a Tupi ally for my Colonial Portugese for use with DBR and Irregular Wars and am after some advice on Tupi warpaint and how red it should be. I have done a bit of research including Balagan and interested in how peoples armies have turned out

For red warpaint, I use a slighty watered down dark red over top of the flesh and then add some brighter red onto the darker red in the palette and use this on raised areas. Here are some examples on early 15mm Eastern Woodland Indians:
