The first of what might turn out to be a long series of photos of my 15mm Eastern Front collection, beginning with some of the Soviet light tanks and other equipment engaged in the early battles of 1941. T-26s (Zvezda models):
BT-5s (also Zvezda):
T-40s (resin models from Zebrano):
A destroyed BT-5:
A pair of 45mm AT guns and their Komsomolets tractors (the guns are PSC, the gun crews Battlefront and the tractors Zebrano):
And finally a couple of 80mm mortars:

Nice stuff, thank you for sharing. I have never heard of Zebrano, but I sure want some of those T40s! Mark |

I especially like how you did the tank commander in the BT5 since the Zvezda kits don't come with separate hatches. |

I always like GA models as he offers a decent price especially if you buy 10 or more and is open to custom orders. Unless you want to assemble your own. link |

Mark, I looked at all of the retailers listed and they are all Russian or Ukrainian. Not sure I want to order from an Eastern European source. Mark |

Thought the same though they do seem to have some very nice tanks! Appreciate the link in any event. |

Hi, For those interested in the Zebrano models, I buy mine from super-hobby.com, an online retailer based in Poland. Service to France has always been impeccable, 6-7 days from order to delivery, never longer. Zebrano itself is a Russian firm. I don't whether it is a one man band but it is certainly a relatively small operation. Their 1/100 models are very detailed and very finely cast. There is rarely any cleaning up to do other than sawing off the resin block from under the vehicle. They come as one main casting, the hull, body or whatever, with wheels, track units, turrets and guns as separate castings. They are packaged in very sturdy little boxes and so far nothing has arrived broken. Most of their references so far are Soviet or French and they often make stuff which is otherwise diffcult to find, eg they have three different types of Soviet tractor. The price per vehicle is fairly expensive compared to most competitors, averaging 8-10 euros each. I'm also not completely convinced that they are always to scale. The T40 for example is bigger than I was expecting. Bt overall I'm very happy with the models I've bought from them. |
