This past weekend, I was privileged to attend the Nashcon gathering of gamers. One of the highlights was the opportunity to visit with Larry Rebel or "Gettysburg Soldiers" fame. His and son Justin's 2nd edition of the "Gettysburg Soldiers" rules have been released, and I was pleased to pick up a couple copies of Edition 2. In addition, I also played in a game that Larry provided. The rules played well, were clearly written, and a good time was had by all the players. We played for three hours and reached a satisfying conclusion. After one or two turns, the players were able to play the game without getting hung up on the rules. Excellent value and worth the $20.00 USD purchase price. In addition, the Rebers have released a Supplement for the AWI and Texas War of Independence. At $10.00 USD, it also is a good value and allows the player to use the rules in two more periods. Good times.

This was our first visit to Nashcon. The venue was spacious and well-lit, and the con staff demonstrated typical "southern hospitality", being friendly and accommodating.
Reported attendance was 524 attendees and 20 vendors.

We will definitely return.

There was even a Flag Dude sighting at the show!

We are going to Advance The Colors (ATC) and Cincycon in Sept/Oct. Gotta support the local cons closer to home.
