Please take a journey to the Der Alte Fritz Journal blog to see my review of the Seven Years War Association convention this past weekend in South Bend, Indiana

We had a good mix of 18th Century Wargames spanning from Marlborough through the American Revolution, but of course with emphasis on the SYW.

The above picture is from my Freeman's Farm AWI game featuring My collection of Fife and Drum Miniatures figures for the Saratoga Campaign.

Looks like it was a good time. Thanks!

And the Portly Gentleman with Tankard once again steals the show.

Ok. Ok. The rest of the game looks fantastic, but we all know who was the real star. grin

A splendid convention, and I should know. My thanks to everyone for the work which went into this one.

Next year's show will be on April 2-3, 2022 at the same venue, Wyndham Ramada in South Bend Indiana.

John;
Plan on a road trip in 2023…

We'll have to kidnap Roger, though.

A nice write up. I didn't see a Vendors list on the FB site. What was the vendor situation like?

Roger is the one talking about kidnapping ME.

Vendors included DPC, Nafziger, Fife and Drum, Outland of PA, another book dealer who I know, but I don't know what his business name is, some flea market tables, and some other people/businesses that I do not know.

I bought a ton of stuff from Robert, a fair amount of stuff from Ed when I checked in, and a little bit of stuff from misc. others.

And the Widow Homo thanks you, 79th. In fact, I'll have to work hard to refill the crates by November, if that turns out to be necessary. Oh. I think you missed The Wargames Company among the professionals.

But Murphy, the vendors at the SYWA Convention tend to be a select few. I'm always glad to see them, and usually have a flea market table myself, but it's the magnificent games, the lectures and the camaraderie which make the convention.

Already trying to book for next year.

Shouldn't that be April 1-2?

The 3rd is a Sunday.

Thanks for the write up, enjoyed seeing the pictures too!

I would say the Hovels figures and livestock stole the show…😆. Btw, the horse on the right of the picture was the first animal I did and was referred to as Shergar.
