You could go for a more tattoo / face paint look: link Do a basic flesh tone, then highlight cheeks, chin and nose in flashy blues and reds. Or if you really want a challenge: link |

I put a final layer of very light skintone to get a pale finish, then leave the eyes all black. Makes them look different to humans and dwarves without mucking around too much. |
