Please see link for a solo refight of the Battle of Lincoln from England's 'Anarchy' civil war period, using DBA rules, Baccus 6mm figures and a scenario published in Wargames Illustrated 29.

Nice to see a DBA game coping well with a historical battle. Thanks for posting!

A good, considered battle report. I really like your representation of the city of Lincoln, even if the castle might not be exactly right it's really not far off – consider the Tower of London.

Thanks both, I appreciate it. I think maybe some walls would have helped with the look.

@Durban Gamer,
Maybe I will develop this thought further on a blogpost or something, but over the years DBA, despite its reputation in some quarters, doesn't give an obviously less historical outcome than many other rules. It can sometimes feel as if it does because a player 'commands' the army in the same way whether they are Hittites or Hungarians, but the outcomes aren't too bad.

I find DBA to be one of the best sets for fighting historical battles.

I liked it so much that I put together this book…

But then, I am biased.

Looks good. But why do you say you are biased?
