"I've had quite a few experiences from ghosts to UFOs so I believe they are somehow part of the same mechanism. Because of the questions I had to ask myself concerning this incident, this is my most bizarre instance of HIGH strangeness. Of course I'm sure there'll be those that just can not believe this, and it's expected, but it's still 100% true and the only person that really needs to understand that is me.

This took place in my mid 20s. I was a freelance designer working from home. This particular day I was sitting on a couch in the living room reading a book. The time was around 11 a.m., shortly before lunch.

I had all the lights off as usual because I only like natural light unless necessary. We had skylights in a vaulted ceiling so I could look up at the sky…"

As a late teen (now 65) I experienced something. I was sitting at my desk in my bedroom, lost in thought. I dont remember what I was thinking about, but it was like the Mentat's litany to the Spice. Over and over, faster and faster, more and more intently. I was just staring down at the stuff on my blotter, not even really seeing it. Something distracted me and I jarred free of it.

It was then that I realized that I'd been staring at a nickel, and tho I had not moved, the nickel jumped 3 inches up off the blotter.

I live in an area with a lot of light pollution, so goi n g out to see a meteor shower is pretty pointless. Some 35 years ago there was a big one predicted. I was up super early taking out the trash, and, tho I knew it was pointless, I kept my eye out.

I was about to go back indoors and looked up one last time. It was all over in about a second. I saw one. It wasn't streaking by overhead, it was coming down toward me. I knew it wouldn't hit me, nor even my yard, but maybe about a block away. Not far above me it flashed to nothing, and I was close enough to hear it expire, like a faint escape of breath.

I've talked about some of mine here on this site in the past. Not sure if I want to repeat them…

In the last hours my mom was in the ER, my dad appeared behind her bed. I could have touched him, he was within two arm lengths. Then in the time it takes to blink, he receded into the distance & disappeared (still trying to figure out the optics of how that works.) And he wasn't alone, there was another presence with him. I'm not worried about what's beyond anymore…

I'm a big fan of all those Paranormal Shows, e.g. ghosts, UFOs/aliens, Bigfoot, etc. Watching Ancient Aliens now !

I may of had a brief ghost 👻 encounter as a small child. But it was so long ago, I'm not even sure it happened now. old fart

Of course now I'm not sure what day it is either at times … so … 🤔

And of course … if I had any UFO/UAP/alien encounters while in the US Army … it would certainly be classified … 🛸👽

When I was a kid I had an afternoon paper route. Every 2 weeks I had to go to the customer to get payment. One day I was doing my collections and it had been raining. This house was on a curved two-lane street and had a fence across the front. I'd normally park my bike by the fence and go up the walk to the porch. For some reason on this day when I go off my bike I pushed it up about 12 feet along the fence and walked back to the gate. I didn't really think much of it other than it didn't make sense. I collected and came back sitting on my bike. Coming around the curve on the slick road a car lost control and came into the oncoming lane. The car swerved to avoid it but the both collided into the fence where I would have normally been sitting.

Before I enlisted in the Marines I used to sky dive. When I was at Camp Lejeune I heard there was a civilian parachute club off base and got some of my buddies to go out and make their first jump. On the ride out there I started getting this weird feeling I should not jump today. It got stronger as we got closer. It wasn't fear, it was just a warning and I couldn't shake it.

The jump master went through the intro routine and picked me first to jump since I was experienced. The moment of truth had come, do I bow out and take the ridicule or jump. I bowed out to the cat calls of chicken s---, etc. The smallest guy volunteered who weighted about 100 pounds less than me. In 1974 there were no tandem jumps, your first one was solo. It made me look pretty bad. So the guy goes up to 3,000 feet to make his first static line jump (modified T-10). We hear the plane cut its engines and he comes out the door. The chute fully deploys and sure enough, it's a Mae West malfunction.
This is what it looked like:
YouTube link

Except it was worse. The guy had to attempt to deploy the reserve twice while he was spinning around with it finally opening a second before he landed in a plowed up field. Weighting 100 pounds more I doubt if I could have pulled it off in time.

There are 3-4 other times this type of stuff has happened to me where I get this premonition something weird is going to happen.

I've had quite a few experiences from ghosts to UFOs so I believe they are somehow part of the same mechanism.

So do I. I call it "Bleeped text". However…

In my old job I travelled a lot and stayed in many hotels of varying quality and age. I won't say where it was, but one was about 150 years old and used for a variety of things before it became a hotel. It was not at all creepy so I was happy to bed down for the night – in Room 8 – and slept well. Apart from the "crump" that woke my up in the small ours. I dozily looked at the chair in the corner where I put my laptop bag. Seeing it gone, I assumed it had just fallen off and went back to sleep (hoping it was damaged enough to get issued a new one). Next morning, I looked for my bag, which had all my work kit in and was rather heavy: it was laying over 6ft away from the chair. After a few attempts, the only way I could get the bag to fall in the same spot was to grab the handle and swing it…

Couple of months later, I was having dinner with the boss at another hotel (sounds a bit Terry & June; at least it wasn't a round of golf) and I recounted this story. My boss told me the restaurant manager used to work at the other hotel, so after dinner he asked her straight if it was haunted. "Oh yes" she said "in room 8. Guests were always reporting things moving and the cleaners hated it." I never mentioned the room number…

And it might still be going on, so long as a group of meddling kids hasn't stayed there.

When I was first married, my wife and I were trying to find an apartment. We scheduled a tour of a place and when we arrived, my wife stepped out of the car and whispered to me "We cannot live here. There is something evil here." I told her that we should still look at the place, but she insisted that there was something evil. I asked her if we could keep the appointment so as to not be rude, but then leave and not come back. She agreed with that, and so we left 15 minutes later. That was early July. Two months later we found out what the evil presence was. 2 of the 9/11 hijackers lived in those apartments at the time we visited.

Wolfhag12 Aug 2021 3:00 a.m. PST

On the 4th of July weekend of 2001 my wife and I were having an afternoon lunch at an outside cafe. We started discussing politics and the subject got to the spread of violent Jihad. Having had experience in conducting business in the Mid-East before we got married I attempted to explain the situation and clash of cultures, she kept telling me I was wrong. I got exasperated and without really thinking I blurted out, "I can guarantee you that right now they are planning to crash a plane into the twin towers in NY city".

People stopped eating and stared and us, my wife got upset and embarrassed and we left. I had no other proof other than the failed attempt in 1993.

My son told me that in his first firefight clearing a village his platoon took 1/3 causalities (just 1x KIA). He's Sig Int so after the shooting was over he was going into rooms looking for intel. He was going to walk through a doorway into a room and he described walking into an invisible door or wall and being knocked back a step. He got a real spooky feeling and called for an EOD. Sure enough, on the other side of the door jam was an IED. There's many stories like that from vets.

👍👍 As the title of the book goes, "God is my Copilot" …

Wolfhag14 Aug 2021 11:58 a.m. PST

Legion 4,
God is everyone's co-pilot.

I don't think I was making any kind of prediction about 9-11. I did know that an airline jacking had been thwarted in the Philippines and the 1993 attempt. I just blurted out what was logical without really thinking about it.

There have also been a number of studies about the gut, vagus nerve and brain connection regarding intuition.

Maybe there is something about, "Trust your gut".

Not a story about me but about my wife. She was working in a hotel bar when the Zeebrugge ferry disaster occurred. All evening she had found herself saying ferry instead of very and similar sounding words to the point that work colleagues were commenting on it. You can imagine the look on their faces when the news broke. She can't explain it and she had no conscious forebodings about ferries just kept using the word all evening.

I also had a premonition experience via TV. First up you should be aware that I don't have any interest in boxing. However, my late father in law did. So having watched the news where they showed the result of a world title fight (I think it was a Holyfield fight) on the evening news I casually asked if he had watched the fight and what had he felt having paid to watch it on pay per view when it was all over with a KO after a couple of rounds. He told me that I must be confused as the fight hadn't happened yet it was that evening. The next day he phoned me to ask how I could possibly have known the result 24 hours in advance!

The world is not as simple as we think it to be.

When I was in elementary school I had a couple of dreams that about minor events that then happened. However there could be other explanations.

God is everyone's co-pilot.
I'd generally think so … but currently with what is going on in the USA today. I'm not to sure about that ?

Wolfhag27 Oct 2021 5:29 a.m. PST

Legion,
He must have been my co-pilot whenever I drove home with a blood alcohol content of .015 or more because I don't remember any of it.

Years ago we had to put a scruffy mini-schnauzer named Levi to sleep. We got him from a rescue society. He was skin and bones and had some serious personality issues. He had been badly mistreated and abused. When he was picked up by animal control he was chained to a fence and kids were throwing rocks at him. It took him about two years to get comfortable cuddling with us and another two before he would play. We grew very close and he became my buddy. It was very hard putting him down when it was his time. He was past the usual schnauzer expiration date and was moving slow and stiff, but was still frisky. One day he got up and came over and I knew it was time. He was telling me he was ready.

I had a really hard time getting over that. First dog I ever put down and he was pretty close. A month or so later I had a dream. I was sitting in my recliner in my living room – vivid to every detail – when I noticed a comely lady standing behind a picket fence in the far corner of the room. She was holding and petting Levi. She stooped and put him on the floor on my side of the fence and he came trotting over and we did the "schnauzer hug" thing we had gotten used to. She called him very softly and he looked at me for a bit, and then returned to her. She picked him up and petted him and then looked at me and said "it will be OK". And from that point on, it was.

My Mother recently Found Peace after progressive Dementia. In early stages, she repeatedly asserted that 'a tall woman' had been in her room, 'going through her stuff'.
I assured her that there had not been anyone there… and that there had NEVER been any woman in her room, except for herself and her mother before her.
I thought that the person who would eventually 'go through her stuff' would be myself.
However, after my Mother passed, my cousin's tall wife was of great assistance in clearing Ma's room. I didn't think about it until later.

I was taking a nap yesterday and dreamed a (future) grand-niece visited me to say hello. It's going to be strange (and funny!) if her mother has a baby girl next year and I knew about it before her… ;-)

When my maternal grandmother was dying, my uncle (grandma's son-in-law) was on death watch with her in her room. He said he saw the image of a man floating over her body just staring at her, he looked at my uncle, and then disappeared.

After grandma died, my aunt (grandma's daughter) and her husband (above uncle) were going through old photo albums at grandma's house. While they were flipping through photos my uncle stopped my aunt, pointed to the picture of a man, and asked who he was. My aunt said that it was grandma's biological father and that he died of the Spanish Flu when she was an infant. He said that the man in the picture was the man who was floating over grandma's bed. That still gives me the willies.

I live in a small town and sold insurance for a local company. The old building was a two story affair that had been remodeled by the owners. On this particular Friday afternoon the bosses (their offices were upstairs while staff was on the ground floor) were out playing golf so it was just the receptionist, officer manager, another salesman and myself.

We were just sitting around talking when my phone rang once. It was being called from one of boss's offices. Weird. So I went upstairs and made sure they hadn't come back to the office. Nope, no one there. I then went back downstairs and the receptionist's phone rang. Then the salesman's as well as the officer manager's. There were four other phones downstairs but they didn't ring.

Back up the stairs I went and walked the floor carefully. The 2nd story floor was wood and my coworkers could clearly hear me walking around. Again I found nothing. The fire door was bolted from the inside so no one had passed through it. Anyway, I was coming down the stairs and Jeremy (the other salesman) told me to "stop!!!!!!" So I stopped about midway down. I could then hear what they were hearing, someone walking very quickly with heavy footsteps from the boss's office and heading down the hall to the stairs. I went back up quickly and when I got to the upstairs hallway I stopped. At this point so did the other footsteps.

I came back down the stairs and sat down at my desk. The office manager was telling the others that she won't work here at night because she has heard the footsteps before. At about that time the footsteps started again overhead only this time it sounded like it was running. Well, Jeremy had had enough and took off as the steps hit the stairs. The receptionist just stared as Jeremy fired up his truck and left, then she burst out laughing. The office manager said that whatever it is never comes all the way down the stairs. She wasn't very impressed by whatever it was walking around upstairs or by Jeremy being routed by a sound.

We see each other all the time (again, it's a small town) and still laugh at Jeremy.

I have had only three real paranormal encounters in my life, but all are equally memorable.

I was a little kid and we lived in a house built in the late 1800s. There were no halls and only a few rooms had doors, so you had to walk through my parent's bedroom to get to my own, which I shared with two brothers. (My sister got the room with the door). I was probably about six years old.

One night I woke up in the middle of the night and saw an all dark figure at the end of my bed. I remember distinctly he was wearing a 'crown' hat like Jughead wore in the comics.

link

I instantly covered my head with my blanket while inquiring very quietly "Dad?" That's when I heard a deep voice say matter-of-factly, 'No.' and then laugh. My heart sunk. I heard no other sound, and waited about a minute or two before dropping the covers only to see my brothers sleeping soundly and nothing there. Never had any other issues or encounters in that house before or after (though my friends were all convinced the house was haunted).

Second was when my wife and I were driving home (at that time) to Glenview, Illinois on I-94 from Wisconsin at the end of Thanksgiving weekend. My wife was 8 months pregnant with our first child. We were just getting up to the border. If you know the area, it's all lit up with tall street lamps, and the traffic was thick. I saw a bright light hovering about 100 feet in the air (it was night), not moving, hovering what appeared to be about 3-4 miles into Illinois and commented to my wife 'wouldn't it be weird if that light suddenly moved?' Just as I said that, the light started doing loops and my wife and I just looked at each other. I looked at the cars around me and others were definitely seeing it and traffic slowed. Then, suddenly, all the street lamps went out. Everyone around me slowed to a crawl. It was a surreal moment. I thought it was possibly a ride at Great America (an amusement park), but when we passed it, the park was closed, and the light had moved further south.

As we got closer, we got a better look at the light and my wife was asking me to get off the highway and follow it. She was 8 months pregnant so my papa bear instincts kicked in and I told her 'no way' and we drove on to home.

Final story- I was on a business trip about ten years ago to Novato, CA and they put me in a boutique hotel in Mill Valley. I was pretty exhausted from the trip and went to sleep at a fairly decent hour. In the middle of the night I felt someone clearly shake my shoulder. At first I thought I was dreaming it, but then, all of a sudden, I felt it again, stronger. I felt a presence there vaguely. I rolled over and half asleep said out loud, "I'm too tired for ghost stuff right now. Let me sleep, please." Then I rolled over and went back to sleep after hearing a super soft sigh and the presence seemed to go away. It was super weird and I was surprised at my reaction to it.

i had a few odd moments after my grandma died, she died in the house where my pareents and i lived and for a couple of years when i was on my own in the house I heard her distinctive sneeze and smelt her eau de cologne which
she favoured. oddly when i moved house a few years later i heard and smelt the presence again in a house she never saw or visited. not scary just odd.

i stayed in the station hotel in chester and had a disturbed night because a baby kept crying. when i checked out several of my fellow guests were complaining about the noise but we were told no kiddies were in the hotel but one had died in the 1920s and had been heard.

the last story was on Leicester station i was on my way home and my train had just arrived when I saw my auntie lucy sat on a seat waiting for the doncaster train where i used to live. she said hello stephen i returned the greeting but had to rush.

i got to my new home about 30 mins later when i remembered my auntie had died 6 years earlier……

not scary just odd.
