I've finally finished up a couple 15mm models for the 17th Century period. On the left is a plastic model by Kibri. I had to modify the model to make it more correct for the period – apparently skylights weren't popular in the 17th Century. :)

The model on the right is a windmill from the Scenic Effects range. Few modifications were necessary as I discovered an old document showing the plan for a 17th Century windmill that looked similar to the model.

I have also completed a stone bridge model and will be adding that photo to this topic at a later time.

Excellent work, though it will look different after Wallenstein's mercenaries pass through.

True enough, Shagnasty. And later in the century, Louis Le Grand's armies were pretty good at "trashing the neighborhood" as well! That does make me wonder though; perhaps I should make a destroyed set of buildings . . .

Very nice looking models.

Are Scenic Effects buildings in 15 mm still readily available?

Gallocelt29 Jul 2021 9:05 p.m. PST

Yup, I believe you can still get Scenic Effects stuff under the name Monday Knight Productions: mondayknight.com

I'm not acquainted with the older Scenic Effects line. Perhaps someone who is could tell me if the current models are the same. I'm pretty sure the label that was on my windmill said "Scenic Effects". I have a few other houses, etc. from them, mostly Napoleonic.

Thank you for the compliment, Badgerlock. Here is the stone bridge that I completed. It's an old Battleground Miniatures 15mm model. I modified it by making it narrower. I can't believe that after 25 years I finally got around to finishing it.
