Well I have been having fun working on some spaceships for Stars & Lasers.

These are the first ships I have designed so I can't wait to see what they look like printed out.

I may still adjust a couple of small bits but on the whole I am pleased with how they look.

I have put some pictures of them on my site with an explanation of what they are or could be.

Not bad. I mean, they're not really exciting, but they're perfectly serviceable.

Within the limits of the scale (1/10000) and what appears to be a filament printer, they look very good. At least as nice as the files being sold on WargameVault.com by the vendor.

Nicely done.

Interesting – modular design so the sort of thing a busy spaceyard could crack out in bulk – and very glad you didn't do the aerodynamic thing – makes no sense in space

@emckinney thanks, yeah I agree not really exciting but they are my first attempt so fairly pleased with them.

@Dan Cyr thanks.

@Frederick thanks, I do like the idea of big bulky spaceships, they also look like they could survive a battle.

Good looking ships. Will they be available for others?

I have always thought that David Weber's versions of spaceships in his books caught the more "realistic" look, not the things with wings and fins that so many designers like.

Lonely Gamer27 Jul 2021 12:25 p.m. PST

@williamb thanks, yes they will be for others once I have get their sizes right and check that they print ok.

@ Dan Cyr I sort of agree as I like the blockier looking ships more than the ones with wings and fins, but having said that I have to admit that I do have lots of both types of ships among my fleets.

What program are you using to design these?

Lonely Gamer01 Nov 2021 3:40 a.m. PST

@Bozkashi Jones thanks.

@Keifer113 it is a program called Asset Forge, great program for building quick simple items for games or for 3D printing.
