Does anyone know whether the Westphalian Guard Grenadiers had a 4 company establishment like the French Imperial Guard or a 6 company establishment like the rest of the Westphalian and French armies? I'd appreciate any information anyone can provide. Thanks. |

The Westphalian Guard Grenadier Battalion had six combat companies and one depot company. It was built around a cadre of German-speaking French veterans. |

By decree of 25 December 1810, from 1st January 1811, the "bataillon de grenadiers-gardes" or "Bataillon Grenadier-Garde" was to be composed of staff six field companies one depot company (dissolved from 1st February 1813) Each company counted 116 (from 1st February 1813: 140) officers and men. |
