Having found out that Black Seas is 1/700 scale, I was wondering what other companies produce 1/700 scale ship models? Any in plastic? Thank you for the help. |

Skytrex Meridian line, which I believe was sold off a while back. Metal range. Some seem to be available here: link Many 3d Printed models out there: link and others. I have some of these mixed in with my Warlord stuff and they are fine, and add some good variety. Note that these are files, not models to buy. If you have a printer that scales, Warartisan's paper ships link mix OK as well. |

Last year I sent off a test ebay order for a set of 1/700 scale photo etched ratlines from Poland. I think they do railings too. I always get tangled up trying to do ebay Poland, but he's still selling. His email is pablojan@wp.pl His etched ratlines weren't brass, but some sort of white metal silver alloy. Good luck. |

The Japanese make a reasonable number of 1/700 ships, Tamiya from memory, although i think Revell also make some. |

Hagen models in Germany do a nice range of small ships (brigs, sloops, schooners, luggers, cutters) and some scenery |

IN restrospect i think the Japanese may not make sailing ships in 1/700 scale, only WW2 ships. The scale I often consider is 1/1200 GHQ ships, which are very nice, but a lot of work to assemble and paint. link |

First of all, Black seas are not 1/700, no matter how hard they try to say otherwise. Black seas has ships in different scales 1/650, 1/670, 1/630 but does not have ships in 1/700 scale. This is important to know before wanting to add boats from other brands that are in 1/700 scale. With this clarification, there is a good variety of companies and individuals that make 1/700 scale ships. Navy Model & Books, has a range of Trafalgar ships at scale 1/700. Not all their ships are done in resin, a lot of them are done in white metal. The quality of the boats is good. But some details are poorly defined due to wear and tear on the molds. It is not excessively annoying but if you are very purist, it can become tedious. Also, some boats have minor design flaws, but usually nothing major. link Mann O' War Miniatures. This brand is from Simon, he has some ships of the Napoleonics period. Design conforms to 1/700 scale, What's more, he is aware of the mismatch between his ships and those of Warlord Games, therefore, he makes an addition to the height of the ship to try to equalize it a bit. If you are going to buy his models to mix with WG's, make that clarification and he will gladly send you the correct file. The quality of the design, the quality of the printing and the details, is quite good, it more than meets the requirements for this scale. The way to contact him is by facebook or buying his models directly from his website. link Turner Miniatures. This brand is from Henry. Similar to Simon's ones, but takes more care of the detail of the stern, figurehead and sides of the ships. On the contrary, I particularly like the planking of Simon's deck better. The design quality is very good, the print quality is very good too. Some of his clients have indicated that his boats seem too fragile to play with, but from my point of view, I see them suitable for that purpose. link I hope this helps Best regards, Julián |
