The order of battle for Brier Creek 1779 includes 50 or so South Carolina Light Horse, with another 150 detached to cover river crossings etc. I've been unable to find a uniform reference for these Light Horse. Could anyone direct me to a reference for their uniform, as I'd like to represent them on the table. Thanks.

On the VF list of uniform plates, page 7 above 2/3rds of the way down, there is reference to "South Carolina Regiment of Militia Light Horse, 1781-1782". Not sure if this is what you're looking for, and I have not seen the plate yet.

This battle, including map and OB will be included in the Helion Military Atlas of the American Revolution to be published later this year.

Thanks for the responses. I've also been referred to Uniformology 26, so I've bought a copy.

Those guys are weird. Keep in mind that apart from any uniform changes, in the latter part of the AWI they're basically a headquarters element with called-up militia dragoon troops working under them, so I'd expect quite a bit of uniform variety.

I have a bunch of Firing Line Continental dragoons that would look very nice painted up like those guys🙂

Problem is that Firing Line has been out of production for more than 10 years.

@OFM, I actually have 3 units of 16 Firing Line Continental dragoons. I have had them for years.

Then you're a lucky man.
My 12 figure Philadelphia Light Horse are Firing Line. Awesome figures.

@OFM. If you are looking for some more Continental dragoons I can help you out. Email me at cavcrazy@hotmail.com. I'll gladly send some your way.
