Somewhere here recently someone mentioned Japanese carriers being painted green.i had never heard of this even after quite a bit of study years ago.

Can someone elaborate and also what shade of green should I use if I go this route?

If you do late war, 1944 on, carriers have camouflage decks.

Dragon6. There are really nice examples in the link Mark (ohnomarchos above). Just scroll down a few entries. They are in color also.

This gentleman does 1/1800, 1/2400 and 1/3000 carrier deck decals. They show all the various nationalities.

Also note that the paint company LifeColor makes accurate IJN, USN, RN and KM paint sets available from various vendors.

Watch out for Mal Wright's forthcoming book on IJM camouflage, there is an extensive section on carriers – and their aircraft (I'm proof-reading at the moment)

David,
Thought I would check back in to see if you might know when Mal's next book might be released? I have all of his other books and would love to get my hands on this next edition on naval camo.

Thanks!

I saw some of Mal's work before I left FB Naval Gaming group (just because it was Facebook). It was fantastic and now that I am not on FB I cannot go back to see if any of the samples were carrier hulls.

Any green you like is fine surely. The shade used matters little compared to the lighting conditions you're modelling.

Is there any new news on when Mal's next Japanese WW2 camo book will be released? I thought I would check back and ask.

Just checking back again to see if anyone has news on Mal Wright's new camouflage book of WW2 Japanese ships? Is there a targeted release date?
Thanks!

Thought I would check back in to see if there was any new news on the progress with Mal Wright's camouflage WW2 book for Japanese ships? If the new book is anything like his previous books, this will be a great addition to my WW2 library and references. Hope it is available soon!
