Since Bush sent troops in 2001, that gets around the "10 year rule". But it's just winding down after 20 years.

Nobody posts to Ultramodern free of bias. It's like asking the News to be unbiased.

I've found that the folks most in favor of banning bias are the most biased, they just don't realize it. (Yes, that's a gross generalization, deal with it.)

I lived in Sault Ste Marie for the worst winter if my life in 76-77. Never going to Michigan again. If hades froze over, it would look like that.

My high school teams were called "the Spartans" … Which kind of confused me. There were no Spartans from Sparta in NE OH ?

Should have picked a more "local" name … like an Indian Tribe or animal? 🤔

Actually, Ohio has a lot of Greek historical place names. It's an effect of classically educated settlers early on.

All around the free world the names of hundreds of thousands of undercover agents, police, and informants were censored from public records to keep their families from being killed by criminals, terrorists, foreign governments, and psychopaths (not necessarily mutually exclusive groups).

Yes that is true … and we still have a lot of Greeks here too. Some of my friends are Greeks. I love to go to the Greek-fests ! I love the food, cookies, etc.

It beggars belief!

That is just one of the Greek Orthodox churches in OH & PA ! We have about 4 or more just in town ! Which mean 4 Greek-Fests. Hopefully not cancelled again because of COVID.

Go to those Greek-Fest and ask for it. It's a custard-pie like desert, though I undestand it kind of laborius.

A lot of Greek cooking is very laborious from what I have been told. But I think I know what you are talking about. Their cookie and pastry selection is amazing !

For main dishes, Mussaka and Patitsiso[spelling ?!], two of my favs !
