Our local South Florida Miniatures Gaming Club, SMG, has started a horse and musket era campaign. It's set during the French and Indian War in North America, cira 1758. We've all played lots of one off games, they are fun, exciting, even nail biting. However, nothing compares to campaign games when each battle has ramifications for the next. My good friend Jorge whom I've been gaming with for 44+ plus years now surprised our group by volunteering to run a campaign for us. He's a horse and musket guy who always runs a great 1700-1800's game and has awesome Naps and 7 Years War collections.

Check out my blog for the AAR and extra pictures. I used a new app, kind of comic book style. Please let me know what you think.

Nothing beats a good campaign.
That's the type of game I would love to be playing.

Howdy,

What were the mechanics of the campaign?

Was it scripted by the ref? Or, more free form with all actions coming from the players?

Ponder on,

JAS

@Ponder, Jorge gave us an awesome map he made, forces at our disposal, objectives, movement rates, some campaign parameters, and a set of rules to use. We had chosen sides prior to the briefings, allocated our forces and supplies, generated a battle plan, then plotted our map movements. Jorge complies the data he receives and sets up the battles based on our map movements and intentions. The results of the first action are what I've posted.

Thanks to all for taking the time read and comment.

Very inspirational! I am starting up a collection using 1/72 plastics and some 20mm metal figures. First thing I bought online was a 1/72 IMEX fort so I can do sieges.
