I have the two part Osprey series on Austrian uniforms but is there any dedicated uniform guides for the three belligerents of 1859? If not, where else could one get this information? I believe there was a booklet put out by freikorps, is that still available? Thanks so much?

I would also highly recommend "An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Military Uniforms of the 19th Century" by Kiley and Smith. It covers from the Crimean thru the the Boer War. The section on German and Italian unification runs around 30+ pages with lots of high quality full color illustrations.

Thankd Colonel…I have the Napoleonic volume but don't have the 19th century volume. I will pick that up as well.

PAR, was the download pamphlet an improvement on the info in the Ospreys?

I also just d/l-ed a .doc file on the Austrian army which has some odd scraps of info, like hair length, etc. Don't know how to post it here and forgot where I got it from.
