Picked up this title on the Portuguese Civil War 1828-34 from Helion: link

If you like lesser know conflicts, this should be for you. The book goes into the events surrounding the conflict and the various battles and campaigns of the war. There are quite a few color plates showing uniforms of the various troops, artillery and flags. There are some nice diagrams of the naval battle of Cape Saint Vincent. The battle would be fun to game.

It appears that both sides wore bell and stovepipe shakos, the liberals also wore fatigue caps and shell jackets for national guard.

If one was to game this, appears that you just need infantry in coatees and shell jackets with various shako types and maybe use Prussian landwehr for the liberal militias and national guard. I have only skimmed through but based on what I saw, I would highly recommend it.

I agree with the Prince. There were many small wars in Europe between 1815 and 1850 which we never hear much about (Swiss Civil War anyone?) which provide interesting scenarios and colourful uniforms. Also, as the period goes on you begin to see the influence of new technology like trains. I would also recommend this book.

Indeed the Sonderbund War of 1847 was also covered by Helion, as the campaign in Spain 1823 and Hungary 1848

among unexpected topics I see they will publish one about the Pacific War 1879-1883, however if it was previously totally neglected, now such period and area has been already covered by others editors these last years (Osprey, Winged Hussar Publishing and Caliver/Partizan Press certainly the best…) so not really a gap for me

more interesting will be a title about the the Greek Independence War or the Portuguese and Dutch Colonial Wars of the 19th century less known than those one century after
in America in the same period 1815-1850 there were gaps the Cisplatine War 1825-1828, first Pacific/Confederation War of 1836-1839,
the Guerra Grande 1839-1852 between Argentina Brazil Uruguay Paraguay French British and Garibaldians (the Italian editor Soldierpublishing did one)
