I gave the new ruleset from Osprey Publishing a spin.

Thanks, can i ask what units the Osprey rules represent (battalion/Regiment/Brigade)? Also how are you mounting them?

I think each unit in Absolute Emperor is a division – nice AAR and great figs! Love 6mm Napoleonics

Good review, thanks

As you say, omission of QRS is puzzling, unless Osprey have it as a separate download

Might as well play a board game with that scale…

That's the scale, but seems more like a battalion scale game in play.

It plays equally well treating each unit as a brigade and the Corps level as a Division. BTW the QRS is on the Osprey site now.

Thanks people.

Each unit represents a division as per the rules. For the scenario and my limited space I chose 4 stands 2x2cm each as a unit.

As has been said and as written in the rulebook scaling down should work fine. I would personally go for one of two routes here:

A: Leave the units as divisions but increase their hits and figure count

B: Scale units down to brigades or even regiments and lower the figure count or increase to command range to have everything work correctly.

This should leave the command system, Absolute Emperor's best feature (for me) relatively intact. It is not a min-max rules lawyer system any way.

Can someone please post a link to the QRS? Thanks.
