Can anyone guide me to a source for some info on tactics
for the WSS.
I know the pikes were pretty much phased out but did the infantry form square.
Was the artillery comparable to that of the Napoleonics
How did the go from column to line
Stuff like that
Thanks

I can suggest a couple of good sources that you can use.
The Anatomy of Victory by Brent Nosworthy and The Art of Warfare in the Age of Marlborough by David Chandler. While a little older they are still good sources on Tactics for the WSS.

Those two books are both "must have" for the period, and taken together they are also "pretty much everything you need". You sometimes can find cheap copies onn the used market.

DFLange do you know of more modern stuff we might care for?

I agree on the books.

Artillery is closer to 17th century in type
Column to Line – infantry would arrive on the battlefield in column and would then deploy into lines well before the battle started. This could take some time until the battle started.

Old thread, but this book (The Military Experience in the Age of Reason) covers the 18th Century, including the WSS:
