Tried out some jet combat over Vietnam by rolling up a phantom squadron, the double dimes using Squadron Forward. Found here

Phantoms Phorever!

An interesting game. Air and naval games tend to be machine oriented, but the way yours is set up incorporates some of the best features of skirmish gaming as well.

Lloyd, fair question; sorry about that. Not a common miniatures rules set. Somewhat abstract which is why I wanted a more meaty combat resolution.
Grelber thank you. The men is what I go for in all my battles. To me that is what makes all this interesting.

Great stuff, Joe, very happy to see you getting this on the table, and can't wait to see what old Sergeant Bomba got up to.

And I'm with you, it's all about the characters!

That's a great idea Joe. I'm going to do something similar with SF for the Khalkhin Gol incident.

Jack. Will try to post bomba's report this weekend. Also hoping to have my phantoms escort a thud strike now that I have 4 thuds painted up and it us a 3 day weekend.
Boggler, very cool. Have thought about doing that myself. It is contained enough you could even roll up squadrons for both sides. Actually I could probably do that for Vietnam. Let me know how it is going.
