I got the Empress Miniatures taliban, and far as I can tell the best way to paint them would be to get good pics on line. The catch is there's SO MUCH on line, that it's hard to select what are "typical" fighters from the OEF and ISAF era. Interestingly from my POV, the fighters and even the leaders seem to favor pretty plain clothing with very little patterns, even in the head gear. I thought they liked more colorful clothing, but perhaps that is more of an Arab style? Happy to get more information from those who know better! |

That is exactly it. There was no "uniform". For my Mujahedeen and African irregulars I downloaded about a dozen pictures of groups of each. Made lists of ALL the colours, footwear, pants, shirts, jackets, hats, etc.. Had about three dozen combos and that is how I painted them. In addition I had five different skin colours for the African irregulars, black, chestnut, dark brown, mixed race, and light mixed race, or south asian. |

yeah, that's where I'm headed, also. You have the info blogged somewhere or in a doc? |
