Do you represent laser targeting/fire in you wargames?

Literal LASERs? Not unless the scenario establishes there is considerable suspended particulate matter in the air. Otherwise, an actual laser beam is invisible.

Now blasters, phasers, super-mega-death-ray beams… those might produce visible beams, as we don't know what the heck they actually are. But even then, I haven't ever consider making a visible representation. Seems they'd be too ephemeral to mark, being instantaneously appearing and disappearing beams.

As a caveat, the range rulers for X-Wing are printed blaster beams.

I handle lasers the same way as Parzival.

We do sometimes use laser pointers to confirm line of sight in complex terrain.

I am with Oberlindes! +1!

(I do explosions too!)

I like those blasters effects.
This would be another interesting topic: what "effects" do we employ in sci-fi wargames. Explosions, spells (tehnomancer?), destroyed buildings, dust from vehicles crossing a desert, or other things for a little spark, more for the visuals, less for the rules (but dust can affect line of sight, explosions too and can have even suppression effect).
