On the Empire Campaign map it is stated to be a city but today on Google its described as a town. In 1831 it had a population of 6,440 which had grown to 20,000 in 2014. How would you represent it in 1815. How may 'built up area' blocks would you give it? Thanks Richard |

I believe it's importance was as a fortress rather than it's size. |

Ok. So should the fortress be Super-Heavy or Heavy. Any suggest as to how many hits to destroy/set it ablaze? |

There are pictures, the where I am not sure. Never liked super heavy even if it is. Seemed to me to be brick construction. |

Hi The Russians scored 10 successful Licorne hits on Torgau. Bearing in mind the French have only 2 Battalions, one crack line and the other Veteran, in the town would they remain or evacuate the town? As each hit would have caused a casualty that's 10 from a total of 18 figures. So is it a case of giving each battalion a morale test? Does my logic seem correct to you? |

Yes a moral roll, minus for %50 casualties, bonus for cover |

It was a proper fortress. No idea if it was kept well by 1815, you woukd have to do a bit of reading. Look here link Search images with festung Torgau 1813 brings more. Plenty of German sites, just push on google translate on the search result. It is fair enough. Unless assaulting by breaking doors etc. 1200+ men if supplied a bit would hold it nicely if not attacked by overwhelming forces and not be perturbated much by a few loosy licornes. But they might not be enough to man it properly ( garrison was more than 6000 in 1813 siege) which gives you opportunity to assault / surprises etc. Looks a bit like the size of Wittenberg 1813. |

If you want to play it as a siege, you might find the siege rules in "The Art of War in the Age of Reason" adaptable for your purpose. The scales are very similar, you would just need to tweak the ground scale a bit, and you could use "Empire" for the sorties. |
