All, Alright, alright, alright, here we go, now we're getting to the big stuff! Sure the WWII Marines and Vietnam gear were cool, but those were small potatoes, this is where we really get dug in! So, I've been building up this force of British for Northwest Europe for about a year now, and I think I'm about finally ready to get some stuff on the table. I figure I painted about 35% of this stuff, and the rest was bought from various locations, a lot of which I had to put some serious work into in order to get it to match the rest of what I had going on. I've been wanting to play some larger sized games, some games where I'm throwing down a brigade vs a brigade on the table, so I organized these forces along the lines of the Rapid Fire Reloaded tables of organization.
Here's the whole mess, a brigade's worth of infantry (three rifle battalions), enough Shermans, Cromwells, and Churchills to make up a Regiment, and various other support vehicles, artillery, and air support.
The British brigade command stand, sporting an M5 halftrack.
Poor Bloody Infantry.
Couple of nice looking Sextons.
Look Shaun, I've got Churchills! ;)
Cromwells.
And more Shermans than I'll ever know what to do with…
I'm SUPER happy with how these turned out.
I even added some terrain. To see a bunch more pics, please check the blog at: link Well, there it is, my Commonwealth (and Polish, I suppose?) force for NW Europe, ready push into Caen and then into Holland. Lots of work went into it, but I couldn't be more happy with how everything has turned out, and I'd love to hear what you think. I'll post their adversaries tomorrow evening. V/R, Jack |

Blimey, got enough stuff there Jack? I'll look forward to seeing it in action. |

Great stuff. What is your table size for all those chaps? |

Thanks fellas, I appreciate it! If I clean the whole thing off I have an 8' x 6' table, but I'll probably just use a 6' x 4' table to play on. Not sure I have enough terrain to fill an 8 x 6 in any case! V/R, Jack |

Thanks for that. Love the Spit stands also. Great stuff all the way around. |

I heard Jack is planning his own game convention soon. We might ask – who else needs to belly up with games for it – Just Jack! ;) |

No problem, Fred, and thank you! Dave, I'd love to, not sure where to start. But I ain't got nothin' on that setup you've been showing up there in St Louis, truly fantastic! V/R, Jack |

Jack, I am just simply speechless. These are awesome. Like your basing idea. I too was a bit hesitant on the one/two figure bases. I see some great battles ahead. Not to slight the terrain boards, they are great too. With everything you have for both sides, if you wanted, you could more than fill that 8x6 table and still have room to maneuver if you used reinforced regiments. Again, wonderful stuff! Sam |

I think Jack is planning on fighting out the NE Europe Campaign on a 1:1 scale. |

Sam, thanks man, you're too kind. Yeah, just couldn't bring myself to do single- or double-basing for so many troops, I'd be scratching my eyes out! But I think I can make it work and, if not, well, the rules will be getting changed or I'll move to something else, but the show must go on! ;) From my standpoint, "brigade vs brigade" fights means that the attacker will have two battalions (reinforced) on the table (one in the assault, one supporting, the third off table in reserve), while the defender will have a single battalion (reinforced) on the table (holding the line, the 2nd battalion off table, also holding the line, and the 3rd battalion off table, in reserve). So it shouldn't be too large. Tgunner – Hey man, long time! Hope all is well. I dunno about 1:1, but I'm doing what I can ;) V/R, Jack |

Well glad you're back! Now get to playing, photographing, and posting! As I recall you did some cool WWII in the Philippines stuff (with Axis and Allies minis rules?), and even some modern stuff? V/R, Jack |
