I am getting ready to send a shipment of figures to Fernando for painting. It's been a very long time since I last sent anything.

At the time, my friend shipped the figures and handled payment. I was responsible for packaging, painting guides and answering questions.

I realized that I am going to have to re-write my painting guide so each batch of figures has it's own reference rather than just one overall guide. Basically looking for color variations in Japanese WW2 uniforms. I don't want them all to look too "clean".

At any rate, I have the customs form, invoice template, etc.. I think that I understand the payment system.

I find myself somewhat confused by their information about shipping by Aramex. Initially, I was under the impression that we send the package there and it will be forwarded from there to Fernando. I'm guessing that is not correct???

Is that how it works? Or is Aramex only for drop off if you live in New York or Los Angeles?

If that's the case, how do you guys usually ship your stuff? I was thinking USPS flat rate international is probably the cheapest.

The last time I sent figures to Fernando, they arranged for courier pick-up, which was extremely convenient.

Aramex in the USA is covered by one of big companies: Fed Ex? UPS? DHL? I forget which one.

When I was exploring the issue I decided that USPS flat rate international shipping made sense if I decided to use the painting service.

I usually use USPS, but for some pandemic reason they weren't accepting USPS for a while. Also, make sure the flat rate is actually better than paying for actual weight.

You can use USPS to send figures to Sri Lanka. It takes about 15 days to reach a parcel. But all of a sudden we have
spike in Covid cases and there can be a lock down soon. In that case parcel might get delayed, but it is safe.
You can send the parcel to Aremex shop and ship address using USPS or we can arrange a pick up for you. Then Aremex will deliver the package to us. Both of these options will cost more than USPS.But may be safer at this moment.
Please donot send any packages, without informing us. We have to forward you a simple document for shipping. Please contact me for more information ; figures@sltnet.lk

In reviewing Fernando's website it appears he tries to make it as easy as is possible to get figs to him for painting. I have never used his services but a friend has a lot and recommends him.

I just sent them a delivery via USPS. You can use Aramex, but I did not. Just check in with them directly before hand and let them know any tracking numbers you get. (You won't be able to track once it is in Sri Lanka, but up until there you can.)
