One of the unexpected benefits of lock-down was my rediscovery of RPG with my old school friends at the tutelage of my eldest son (whom I think has memorised the contexts of 5th Edition AND the subsequent rules changes .. respect). From the loft came out some old Grenadier and Citadel friend from the 1980's (see below, not forgetting the ubiquitous dungeon floor plans – basic set corridor grey)…

I hadn't played any RPG in over 25 years, maybe even 30 years. With covid-19, I fit in GMing a brief roleplaying campaign via Zoom with some nephews during the summer of 2020. It remains to be seen if we'll duplicate the fun in 2021.

Sometime last year I was invited to join an online RPG game with some distant friends. I'm now in three such campaigns, one of which I DM (using "Classic" D&D, aka the BECMI series/Rules Cyclopedia). We don't use minis, but two do use online "virtual tabletop" services. The classic D&D game is strictly theater of the mind.

Like you, it had been a long time since I played D&D with friends- now it's two or three times a week!

Been playing since 1980. Had some dry periods over the decades, but now it is a matter of aligning everybody's schedule with the rest of the participants! Life is busy, and getting enough bodies for critical mass is a challenge, with/without COVID. We kept meeting, face-to-face, regardless. Two are my sons, one a cousin, and the fourth a local friend. Due to the fact that two live outside of town, we've used Zoom a couple of times when they needed to skip the travel time to play.

RPG's are one of the least expensive forms of entertainment, bar none. They are also one of the most fun forms of entertainment, bar none… Cheers!
