The release of the O Group rules for battalion level actions has been my incentive to start collecting opposing forces and terrain in a small scale. I seriously considered 6mm but found that a little too small and the release of the new Victrix range convinced me that 12mm was the way to approach it (most 10mm stuff also fits this size).

I've started building German and British forces for Normandy (mainly because these were the first releases from Victrix). I've written a longer blog post detailing these and how I put them together which you can see here 12mm Second World War

These are some of the British and German infantry based on to 20mm square bases, and a few of the Victrix tanks.

Me too…. I am doing the same. The problem may be finding support weapons (a/t guns, etc) in this scale.

Wow! They look great! Of course that's par for the course with you! I went with 6mm as I can print off most of the vehicles and only needed to buy the infantry. I have done that buying GHQ infantry on sale from ebay and Noble Knight games.

All of my forces in this scale are from Perrin Miniatutes…done by Magister Militum.

Very nice – although I am sticking to 6mm!

I've found the Pendraken 10mm range are a good fit. The sculpting style of the figures is different but size wise they match up okay, especially if they are on separate bases.

I've added several of their AT guns and crews, plus HQ and other units. There's a further blog post on those and other element which you can see here 12mm support weapons and units

Only just found this.

Inspiring and a thing(s) of beauty!

One of the issues with a small scale is how to distinguish specialist units, so for my assault engineers I've added a flame effect to the flamethrowers.

I've also added four Churchills, unlike my other tanks which are all plastic from Victrix these are metal from Pendraken but they mix well with the others.
