While I have not fired a Colt Peacemaker I have fired a Colt 1911, which as fond as I am of it is a pretty slow fire compared to say the Sig-Sauer. Still, if you want someone to go down and stay down, that big cartridge does the job

I have a Colt 1911 and a Colt revolver( not a Peacemaker) but never tried fanning it.

Sure, but you run into mopes, not one of the three people in the world who can do that.

It takes practice of the perfect draw and shoot to do that.

I used to be able to fire 12 rounds from a S&W 686 4" revolver in 5 seconds from the holster. That includes the reload. Could not do it now, but I no longer shoot two or three times a week.
