Do you have a favorite miniature? Mine is the 15mm ancient German clubman from Miniature Figurines. Over the years I have painted several clubmen for various armies. They fight side by side with other german or with celtic warriors. Another one has joined a band of stone age hunters. Brothers of him has joined peasants upraising in fifth century Gaul and Medieval Germany. One clubman was even hired by late Medieval pirates Thanks for your interest. Stefan |

For all their limitations, some figures just have the character you're looking for … Unfashionable perhaps, these 15mm Byzantine cavalry by Irregular …
… just tick the box. (the upright ones – and yes, I did replace the lance shafts) …

28mm to 32mm Vikings,Saxons, villagers. Especially from Victrix and resin prints from Asgard Rising Miniatures. The design and detail of the resin ones are the best; but very easily broken. So not the best for gaming. Just beautiful though. |

@OFM, I agree with your choice of figures. The Firing Line Continental cavalry are beautiful. I have 3 units of 16 that I need to paint. I just never found the time. Even raw castings, they are my favorites. |

Can I change my vote? I don't know if they were actual gaming figures but, there used to be a company called Bugle & Guidon and they made Little Bighorn figures. Those figures are works of art. |

I've spent quite a bit of time on this and am not sure I can come to a final decision. I was going to make a short list but it was too long. So, the Historical Products Company Assault Guard. Solid sculpting and casting and for me evokes the period. |
