Great AAR – good to see the air war in the Western Desert being gamed! |

Awesome fight, Joe, great seeing your Brit P-40s beating up in the Italian fighter-bombers, and very serendipitous to catch the escorts napping! I like the look of your 8th Army troops as well, though not happy to see thr MiG on that Thud's tail! Take care. V/R, Jack |

Thank you all for your kind words. Yes Jack an working on a Vietnam air mash up of DIF, Phantom plus my BTH combat results table as I like it better than the one in Phantom. Thanks Joe |

Sounds cool, Joe. I bought this solo game called "Thud Ridge," (from Berserker Games, not the great set of rules from Tumbling Dice) and it looks pretty cool, I'm looking to get it onto the table sometime in the near future. Of course I need to get me some aircraft and ground effects for it as well, probably 1/600 from Pico Armor. V/R, Jack |

Sounds interesting. I picked up Phantom Leader deluxe by dvg games with the intent of doing the same thing. Then I ran across phantoms with the Vietnam supplement intruder and am still playing with that. Am happy enough with my system that I just launched a Migcap with Capt. Johnny Foreman leading the flight. Will see how it goes… |

Yeah, I think this will work well, just have very little time right now. I've found myself several times spending considerable amounts of time looking at various DVG titles over the past five years. I typically get right up to the edge of pulling the trigger but back out at the last moment; in the end they always seem too complicated. I think you have more patience for intricate mechanisms, whereas I am much more driven to simplicity in order to keep campaigns moving. V/R, Jack |

Jack, My brother would agree with you! He says most of my ideas are too complicated. Perhaps that is why I didn't mind command and I currently run a hospital!. He was amazed with platoon forward/squadron forward that I didn't mess it up. He actually suggested I publish it. Most of the DVG stuff sounds better than it plays so my brother says. I only have Down in Flames which I like and Phantom Leader. Cheers Joe |

Joe, Sounds like a very intelligence, highly driven individual ;) The more you talk and I get to know ya, the more I'm amazed you didn't mess up Platoon Forward, too! ;) But hat's off to you, you definitely didn't. Yeah, the DVG stuff looks fascinating; I want to love them, but it just doesn't work out. I'll see something somewhere to key my interest, then spend a bunch of time reading reviews and playthroughs online and videos on Youtube, then ultimately decide it's too fiddly for me. C'est la (little lead) guerre, and to each his own. I've finished up several large painting projects, about to start posting the stuff. I still have more, but I need to get back to playing some games, it's driving me crazy. V/R, Jack |
