You were asked – TMP link

Would you be willing to show proof of vaccination in order to attend a miniature wargaming convention or show?

72% said "yes, I would show proof of vaccination"
16% said "no, I would not show proof of vaccination"
4% said "I haven't been vaccinated"

Attended Geek Fair, in Minneapolis, on Saturday. My friend told me that if we showed our vaccination card/passport, we would get a VIP pass. I went to the registration desk, and was asked if I wanted the Vaccinated VIP necklace -- and I never offered a passport, nor did she ask if I even was vaccinated!

A few wore masks, but none was required. The Vaccinated VIP necklace was nothing more than virtue signaling, IMO. You got nothing from it from the vendors.

Really looking forward to having COVID behind us, as a mere piece of history. We will look back on it, in 10 years, very differently than we do now. That will be fun, I think. Cheers!

My problem is that as one of the early people to get vaccinated, there was no vaccination card, so I have no "proof".

My parents, wife and daughter all have fancy cards from the CDC but no of those were around back in January.

If "they" need to bribe me into taking it, it makes me wonder what's wrong with it. And yes, I'm a bit cynical.

I got my vaccination card to wear on a lanyard around my neck.
I'm shameless, and I'll exploit it to the Max. The world owes me. I was … indisposed … the day after the second shot. I had minor aches and pains!

Stryderg, the thinking behind the 'bribes' is to encourage those who can't be bothered, not to win over those who have major doubts.
As getting vaccinated is as much about getting things back to normal by getting a good proportion of the population covered, if 'virtue signalling' helps show that many people have already done it, then as far as that might encourage others to do so, that's a useful thing.

If the Jab was required to attend a wargaming convention, I would not attend. Very simple.

WarWizard08 Jun 2021 10:18 a.m. PST

I did not see that poll. But YES, I would show my proof.

War Scorpio09 Jun 2021 4:59 p.m. PST

Lets say you had Covid, and have the antibodies. There is no need for you to get the Jab. You will not be allowed to attend the Convention?

Stryderg10 Jun 2021 8:17 a.m. PST

Probably. We're in the process of setting up a two class society, probably on purpose (those who will comply vs those who will cause problems for the governing class).

With all due respect, this has got to be one of the most poorly worded surveys ever. Who was it meant for? If your Vaxed, why would the results not be 100%? Isn't that what you got the Vax for, to be allowed into concerts, conventions, etc? (oh yes and all those altruistic reasons too don't forget).

Why would you not show proof if you were Vaxed? If you were not Jabbed, well, you Can't show proof! BTW, the 4% is not an indication of the quantity of people apprehensive and refusing to take the jab. Even the CDC and FDA peeps only have a 50% vax rate. Interesting stat there isn't it?

I say Mr. Editor in Chief, Chief Editor and ruler of TMP, you better think of more precise formulated surveys. Just my humble opinion.
