Continuing my series of enhanced paper models, I have (nearly) completed this stone church. I designed it to appear somewhat medieval with perhaps some more 17th century features like the tower roof. I was able to use ModPodge to simulate a stone texture as well as wood and other textures. This reminded me of giclee prints that have been textured with gel medium. The tower roof can be removed and can be replaced with a crenulated top (soon to be built). This will allow the church to appear more Anglican for the ECW. Also I plan to possibly add a few buttresses although a church this small might not require them. I should point out that the church was designed with 15mm – 18mm figures in mind.

Nice work!

Thank you all for liking my church. BillyNM, I'm not really making them to sell. So far I've just made one-offs for my own collection.

My next model project will take a bit longer. I'm planning a small 17th Century German schloss – more like a fortified manor. It will be modular with pieces that can stand alone or be incorporated into the total model. I wasn't sure how I would do the stonework but after doing the church I think I have a better idea how to proceed.

Cheers!
