Has anyone seen or have the Revell model of a Flower Class Corvette, HMCS Snowberry?

I have admired the model for years (I think Airfix used to have one also) and just ordered it. If I remember correctly, the price used to be over $100.00 USD, so I figured this was a bargain.

I have it, but it's in my stash not yet started. I'm building it for my niece who is a LT in the RCN and just graduated the Surface Warfare School.

Lots of parts; lots of time; lots of painting, but definitely worth it.

I hope your niece enjoys the model.

I've seen it many times in the old days, in the modeling magazines. It's often modified for other subjects, too.

I've built one for a friend. Many of the parts are over-simplified and toy-like. If you care about accuracy of appearance you'll have a lot of work ahead of you.

Bechtel198 DANGER! That is the 1/144 scale Flower Class Corvette.

The Matchbox and later Revell kit was 1/72nd scale and is a great kit. I built one and converted it to a waterline model, and used aftermarket metal guns. And I built a second and converted it to waterline and constructed it as a merchant ship. I have a third one unassembled as yet but I may become a German version.

Yes, the model is in 1/144 scale. I received it two days ago and am very pleased with the model kit.

1/72 would be too big to display and the cost would have been prohibitive. I think I saw one for $300.00 USD. Mine cost me about $70.00 USD and is still quite large and the model is very well-detailed and very well done. And it has at least 500 pieces, so it will take awhile.
