Always problems with new kit, but worrying if it cannot 'back out of trouble…and Fast'.
As for 'Noise' problems and 'Aches and pains'… I am not 'in the know' but rather think that is common to ALL armour, and troops will have been asked for their 'comments'for 'evaluation'.
From previous 'discussions', Armoured Infantry are ONLY TOO GLAD to get OUT of an APC!
Never having 'done the job' myself, comment welcome.

The reports I've seen of the noise and vibration level are a lot worse than business as usual for an APC.

The expensive shambles of UK AFV procurement of continues. When people complain about the "excessive cost" of the carriers, they should remember we have spent almost as much on FRES, Warrior upgrade and AJAX without delivering a single usable vehicle. It wouldn't be so bad if the end-point force structure they were aiming at made sense but as it is…

I spent my Army time in M113's, and that is the primary source of the hearing loss I suffer from today.

All that aside, this is another demonstration of how democracies struggle with military procurement. The US government is notoriously bad at holding contractors accountable for delivering on their promises, and Congress has been equally troublesome in how they meddle with contracts and procurement in an effort to shower money and jobs on their own individual districts.

What we need is some kind of independent mechanism that would keep the military in check from all sorts of frivolous projects, keep Congress/Parliament out of the process other than approving overall funding, and stronger laws to enforce accountability from defense contractors.
