…Space? "This May, China landed a rover on Mars, expanding the nation's growing presence in space. The feat showed the world the nation's space capabilities and fueled fires anew of competition in space, but is there truly cause for concern? China became the second nation ever to successfully land on Mars when its Zhurong rover touched down May 14 on the Martian plain of Utopia Planitia . Zhurong's arrival followed NASA's successful landing of its own Perseverance rover in Jezero Crater on Mars Feb. 18. Perhaps, though I'd like to think the private sector will step up to address any gaps. I'm afraid though, that given the new person in office, the importance of our space program appears to be getting much lower priority compared to other issues, sadly. Sounds like some of the programs and goals of the last guy may be nixed, or at the very least delayed, which is what got us in trouble in the first place, having to rely on the Russians to get to the ISS. |

… they share a long land border with a power that is starting to outstrip them. History tells us what happens next. US troops might one day be shoulder to shoulder with Russian troops as they defend against the Chinese Communist hoard crossing the Ural Mountains. |
