Obviously this is just a "Work in Progress" pair of flash photos, so no great depth of focus.

Makes a change from Prussian Hussars. Mort-Homme was photographed as it advanced along the Rue de Rivoli towards the Hotel Meurice. Seconds later a German managed to drop a grenade through the hatch from quite some height!

DH, most impressive!

How much of the custom-added pieces are scratch-built up from plastic sheet and shaped stock…..like those periscopes and prism heads for example?

The white stuff is of course plastic rod and sheet as you say. Not a lot of brass on this one. The light guards, the vane sight, tow shackles. No periscope nor siren guards this early on. It needs to be festooned (I like that word) with kit next.

The turret might look odd. It was. This turret type (no pistol port) had the right cheek thickened over the previous weak thin spot. I moulded that in. The French however thought they still had to put on the applique armour and wondered why it was such a poor fit. There are surviving display M4 types showing that still.

After Paris Mort Homme got a replacement turret (as you can imagine badly needed) but of an older design. Still has it to this day!

A nice bit of fetling.
Such a nice kit to play with the Heller.

My third Heller M4A2 with one more in the attic. The challenge here is the crew and the kit carried. I am working on a very well known photo on La Rue de Rivoli, where the company commander is crouching behind the turret. Made him today from parts of several resin figures

and it turns out he was not a tank officer at all. He was an infantry Lt (RMT) escorting the tanks.
