Thanks Bill,
There were a lot of ID problems after the Battle of Tarawa. One gravesite was relocated because they wanted to build an officers club on the site. The new gravesite was not located until a few years ago. It was the first battle where Graves Registration had to deal with so many KIA in so short of a time in terrible conditions.
