I see this game has been out for a while, and that there were some reviews when it first came out, but not much about it posted here in the last 2 – 3 years. I'm curious to see what people think about the spacefighter combat system. Looks pretty decent to me, though the movement cards are really small, so the fighters don't move very much each turn. Seems to me the game might be a bit more interesting if the movement rates of the fighters were doubled, or trebled, while keeping the firing ranges the same. I'm interested in hearing opinions from people who have played the game, and what you like, and/or dislike about it. The minis look very nice. |

Its a lovely game, although some aspects of the movement rules take a bit of effort to get one's head around. But once you crack the whole KE thing it works really well. The models are gorgeous. Alas Ares have lost the licence for the game so it won't be developed any longer, and the game and models are no longer in production, so if you want to buy in then now is the time before everything disappears. The sad thing from my perspective was that my local group, who quite like Wings of Glory, didn't take to this one so we only played it the once. I get my BSG fix at the Wings of Glory Aerodrome UK weekend at Doncaster now |

I really like the game though several of my group struggle with the whole KE concept. On the down side though, now that Ares has declared the game dead we are left with no missile rules. Unfortunately that really impacts the Raptor and Heavy Raider units. All in all a good game that really gives a good representation of combat as portrayed in the series. Tom D |

Ares have published the missile rules, they are a free download on their website. Of course you need to print them yourself but at least they are there. |

Well thank you Mr. Manley! I had seen the download but didn't realize that it contained the missile rules as well. I thought it was only the new FTL rules. We're back in business again. Tom D |

Thanks for the info. Sadly, it appears that fighter attacks vs. capital ships, and vice versa may never emerge, which given the title of their rules, seemed like a possibility, back in the day. A shame the prototype capital ships will never be produced to go with the fighters either, so I guess well just have to rely on other manufactureres for those. |
