The latest model to join my collection of French ships is the mighty Ocean Class French first-rate L'Orient that gained immortal fame at the Battle of the Nile in 1798.

In my first post reviewing the model I take a look at the early history of the ship leading up to her climactic end as she began her days in Toulon under the name Dauphin Royal.

Spectacular! How you keep those metal masts so straight while rigging is amazing.

Thank you. It's relatively straightforward once you have the model set up as you want. The rigging actually works rather like the real thing in that it makes the whole model very stable to handle and keeps everything as it should be.
