A 100% more players prefer 8th to 7th :-)

For a total of 10% who care to partake in that poll. Well, I assume WFB has been greater before, or this is just the wrong forum for this sort of game.

On a different note: Watch Astartes as long as its still available on Youtube :-)

The nice thing about a hobby is you can do what you want. I prefer 7th. Lots of reasons, but basically I just don't like the way armor is treated in 7th and 8th, and I don't like the "feel" of it.

That's not a very quantifiable explanation, but who cares? Most people will play 8th (9th now), and more power to them. But as long as my friends play 7th, so will I.

3rd edition

Given all the stratagems and special rules of 8th (and 9th), I'm even more convinced that 7th was the better of the modern versions of the game.

Yes, 7th was cluttered and a bit slow. But, as someone who played a lot of needlessly complex historical rules in the 1970s-1990s, I didn't find 7th that bad.

Indeed, I still like the "feel" of game play in 7th better than the more modern versions. Each to their own, of course.

I just don't want to learn another set of rules, so 7th it is.

My friend and I still play 3rd edition.

I play my homebrew 5.5 edition! 7th was okay, 8th was meh.
