Interesting concept – as I recall General Dynamics tried to use this to market to Turkey and Egypt but that didn't pan out |

Spending that much money and time on an upgrade did not pan out compared to just buying an Abrams or Leopard II. I think it would have sold if there was a big European war and there was a huge need for tanks right away in the West.
