So, am I to have 4 different units to represent the 23rd Foot? Possibly more, since they got a new issue every year? Yes. With online wargamers, I have noticed a connection between a dearth of solid information and fanaticism over costume. It seems in Napoleonics, there is more give and using 1805 French for a Waterloo refight is barely noticed. However, with the Renaissance, people can lose their minds over someone using Pavia period landsknechts for 1544 refights. You'll hear discussions like the pluderhosen on the German minis used for a game set in 1587 isnt quite "pluder" enough (Pluder-Lite) etc. Same with the AWI where the lack of Intel on flags and uniforms which presumably should allow for more abstract expression can, ironically, lead to massive anxiety; it can even extend to trees! I mean just note the lunatic in another thread asking about what sort of soldier carried Washington's standard! |

"It seems in Napoleonics, there is more give and using 1805 French for a Waterloo refight is barely noticed." Say it isn't so. :-0 " Renaissance, people can lose their minds over someone using Pavia period landsknechts for 1544 refights." And who can blame, them? Whatever Pavia period means. ;-) "here the lack of Intel on flags and uniforms which presumably should allow for more abstract expression can, ironically, lead to massive anxiety" And that is perfectly understandable. LoL "it can even extend to trees!" Abstract trees? Who knew you could do that? Can you provide some examples? LoL So, you realize this is TMP. :-) |

Whatever Pavia period means. ;-) I made it up. I'm like that. I like these catchy phrases like "Suddenly Susan", "Call me maybe" and "What, What". Like "Austerlitz Pow!", "Sha-Zama" and "Have grapeshot, will Guilford Courthouse" It's all part of my "post modern fantasy" approach to gaming. link Abstract trees? Who knew you could do that? Can you provide some examples? LoL It's ALL about the trees… nah mean? Here are some abstract trees: link |

Pavia was just before the Jurassic period. It's when the Zamboni comes out. Best sandwich I ever ate was a Zamboni with extra sauce. Does this advance the conversation? I hope so. |

>I know! I watched him in Turn, he was so uncouth and ruthless. Not where I would go to get an accurate depiction of Rogers (or many other individuals besides). I tried to watch Turn…I had to Turn It Off. |

I wouldn't watch Northwest Passage for an accurate depiction of Rogers either. It tried to make him look competent! |

I wouldn't watch "Turn" for a depiction of anything. |
