Started a campaign many years ago – and would like to give it another go! I did use a variant of the old "Stormbringer!" RPG rules, based on the Runequest rules, which seemed to fit due to being skill based. There are some Dark Tower rules on the web, based on the RQ system I think. The group played young 'Gunslingers' sent out on a punitive mission to catch or otherwise bring to justice a bandit leader because the situation in Gilead (being set not too long prior to the fall of Gilead) meant that no experienced Gunsliners could be spared… Always really liked the original setting of Gilead, with it's order of Gunslingers (a cross between a western gunfighter and a knight). What type of thing did you have in mind for your game, and what system were yo going to use? |

i only recently found out that a series of comics were made to show the fall of gilead & the battle of jericho hill. thinking of doing a skirmish campaign of several outrider units battling various groups of the good man's army. saw the illustrations of the good man's army & have started kit bashing them. not sure what rules i will use yet. |

Sounds good! Ideally need a system that has both 'quick draw' and 'quick load' rules for the Ginslingers – or possibly go for 'Wildfire shooting' for most characters whilst Gunslingers and the like use 'deliberate fire' like the system used in the first Judge Dredd RPG by GW… |

i use a homebrew shooting system for playing wild west games. six gun armed figures have 2 shots each. If they want to take 1 aimed shot only they get a plus 1 to hit. and if they wish to fan their pistol hollywood style, they get 3 shots at minus 1 to hit. may incorporate some of this into the games. still putting the forces together so haven't got around to game mechanics. should be able to have a test game memorial day weekend. |
