What are some good books about the ACW in Indian Territory?
Thanks in advance.

There are lots of recent books that I haven't read, but I can recommend two old standbys:

The American Indian in the Civil War, 1862-1865 by Anne Heloise Abel

The Union Indian Brigade in the Civil War by Wiley Britton (an officer in the brigade).

Col Durnford06 May 2021 1:13 p.m. PST

Another old favorite "The Civil War in the Western Territories" by Ray C. Colton.

Covers actions in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah.

On my shelf I have Dr. Mary Jane Warde's When the Wolf Came, The Civil War in Indian Territory. I have not read it yet. You may want to check reviews of it first.

Check these out. Not the most scholarly but you might find them useful.
